Hamarikyu Teien – Garden
Information : Hamarikyu Teien | 旧浜離宮庭園
Hamarikyu was built as a shogun family’s residence in 1654, and was called the beach palace (Hama Goten). it is a daimyo garden of the Edo period, and sea water is used for the water of a pond. After the Meiji Restoration , it became the Imperial Household’s palace. In World War II, many trees were damaged and the tea house has been burned down. After improved, it came to be opened to the public in 1946.
