The garden in Chiran was made between the 17th century and the 18th century, and it has received the influence of the garden made by Enshu Kobori, and the influence from Okinawa.? As for seven gardens specified as the scenic spot in Japan (名勝, Meisho), six are a dry landscape garden type and remaining one is a pond garden(Chisen Kansho Shiki).
