Although Cherry tree (Sakura : Someiyoshino) is the Japanese National Flower, those trees were damaged during 1960’s because of rapid development and the pollution of the city. For preserving and planting trees, Japan Cherry Blossom Association (JCBA) was established in 1964 and the 100 beautiful spots were selected in 1990 by them.
